Exercises can help: Try doing some home rotator cuff exercises to depress the head of the humerus and open the rotator interval alleviating the impingement. Check here. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/patientinstructions/000357.htm. If not getting better after a few weeks, see your doc.

Varied approaches: Most conservative approach is use of anti inflammatory mess and/or analgesics along with physical therapy if symptoms persist may need to consider arthroscopic surgery to relieve the impingement.
