Is pulling back your hair in a high ponytail ok or does it tend to make hair fall out?

Yes: Yes, pulling your hair back in a ponytail is okay. It will only cause hair loss if you pull it too tight, and leave it that way for long periods of time.

Traction alopecia: Traction alopecia is a form of gradual hair loss or thinning of the hair that hapĀpens as a result of constant pulling over time, usually as the result of particular types of hair styling. Commonly, this condition is caused by hair styles such as dread locks, braids, corn rows, weaves, clip on pieces, tight turbans and high, tight pony tails or pigtails.
