Sore chest: Asthma in itself does not cause sore chest. It is often due to breathing muscle fatigue. Asthma "attack" is treated with steroids by mouth usually for 5-7 days in addition to inhaled medications. Rarely a condition called pneumothorax (collapsed lungs due to air escaping from lungs) can cause sudden, sharp chest pain.
