What is the name of an imaging test(s), if any, that a general md can order that will clearly show soft tissue like ligaments and muscles in the neck?

MRI: Mri would show the ligaments and muscles of the neck. But there are very few reasons to get this type of a neck mri. A serious injury requiring some sort of repair of these muscles is very rare, so it would definitely be best to discuss your specifics with your doctor.
