Yes: It is possible to make oneself pass out, however it is not advisable as this is commonly the result of depriving your brain of oxygen. The reason we pass out is to protect the brain from a lack of oxygen as we would fall to the ground and blood moves easily to the brain without the effects of gravity. Depending on the bodies position it may last from a few seconds to a minute or so.
