Interstitial cystiti: Ic is a painful poorly understood condition of the bladder. Many believe simply changing one's diet (avoiding acidic and spicy foods) can help. Your urologist can also prescribe medicines to help alleviate pain and eventually promote healing of your bladder lining (urothelium). They may also infuse medicines into your bladder which can help with an acute flareup.
