Normal: Hcg is used as a marker of pregnancy or certain tumor types. Either way, a level of less than 1 would be considered normal.

What does a 1150.0 hCG blood test mean?

Context: You are pregnant. However the level has to be out into context. Hgg level should correlate with how far you are along. It can even be used to see if your having a miscarriage, this is because early on the number should always be rising. If its going down, you probably having a miscarriage. * i hope this helps.

Pregnancy test: Usually a HCG level less than 5 miu/ml is interpreted as negative for pregnancy. So this is a negative for pregnancy. All tests must be interpreted with the results from the history and physical examination.

Need more info: This seems like a normal level for early pregnancy, but to be sure, you should state how many weeks you are. As long as you're having an appropriate rise in your HCG level (doubling every 48-72 hrs), then there's nothing to worry about. There's no need for you to continue checking your HCG level, however, unless you have concerns for miscarriage or your doctor recommends it. Congrats!

Why might I need to repeat an hCG blood test?
1 doctor answer • 4 doctors weighed in

Dr. Gurmukh Singh answered

See below: After a missed period, HCG level of less than 5 is negative for pregnancy. More than 25 is diagnostic of pregnancy. Between 5-25 requires a repeat test in 4-5 days.

Intercourse on 7/1 only. hcg blood test <2 yesterday. still need test? thanks

Depends: Did you miss a period? If you did and the HCG level was done after missed period, you are not pregnant. If you did not miss a period you may wish to do a home test. If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
Practice safe sex.
