A member asked:

Can resperidone have a long term damage on cognitive functions ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not expected: There is no evidence that Risperidone causes permanent cognitive impairment. It can cause sedation - which might cause short-term impairment. The disorders Risperidone is used to treat ( schizophrenic and bipolar spectrum disorders) often are associated with cognitive problems. Please discuss with your prescriber.
