ESR is nonspecific.: Esr can be elevated for many reasons. An ESR of 20 is mildly elevated, but not necessarily a cause for alarm. Your doctor needs to consider the value of this in context with your symptoms and possibly other tests.

No cause for alarm: Not sure why you are worried. This test is never just a test that stands alone. We are missing the reason for the test, what other tests were done and what you are feeling or experiencing. There is nothing else here on which to give you reassurance.
