Possible: Birth control with depo-provera begins immediately after the first shot if given within the first five days of your menstrual period. There is a possibility to get pregnant if depoprovera was received more than 1 week from your last menstrual period.

I got the depo provera shot about 3 weeks ago and I am planning on having sex this week. Friday is the 28th day of my cycle and I wanted to know if I'd be protected against pregnancy? Also, I have not had bleeding and was wondering if that could happen.
