Probably Not: There is a theoretical concerns that any steroid cause avn. Having said that it would be distinctly unusual, if not un heard of, for normal doses of Flonase to cause avn.

What OTC medications or remedies are safe to use for a runny nose during pregnancy?

Antihistamines: Otc antihistamines such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) as well as longer acting nondrowsy formulations such as Claritin have been standard recommendations for years. However if you want to avoid medicines cleaning out the nasal passages with a neti pot or saline spray is also helpful and flushes out allergens such as pollen as well.

How can I help my baby breathe when she has a runny nose?

Suction and humidity: Babies cannot blow into kleenex the way we do with a congested nose, so we basically have to perform this for them. I recommend bringing your baby into the bathroom and turning the shower on hot. Hold your baby there while the bathroom gets steamy- this will help soften the mucus. Then using suction (blue bulb or nasal aspirator) suck the mucus from his/her nose.
