A member asked:

Breast.reduction can my nipples be smaller?

Yes: When the breast volume is decreased by either liposculpting, significant weight loss or surgical reduction mastepexy, the areola-colored part around the protruding nipple- usually shrinks, or it can be surgically reduced and made more symmetric at the time of surgery. The nipples themselves tend to protrude less when the "skin balloon" of the breast is deflated.

Yes: Both the areola and the nipples can be reduced in size during breast reduction surgery. It is likely that you are referring to your areola; make sure you discuss your preferences with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
