Yes: As part of the process to evaluate an individual to be an organ donor they are screened closely for any medical or psychosocial problems that would lead to increased risk during donor surgery. They are also screened for potential problems or lifestyle practices that could lead to disease later in life, or for diseases that could be transmitted by the organ to the potential transplant recipient.
