Allergic Rhinitis: If you have persistent runny nose for weeks, then allergy should be considered. If you are allergic to cat, it is likely that you are also allergic to other airborne allergens. Your doctor can prescribe a steroid nasal spray like Nasonex (mometasone) or nasacort which can be much more effective than antihistamines. You may also need to see an allergist for further evaluation and treatment.
