Incomplete info: What do you mean by a stomach bug? Did you have vomiting? If you did, you may have hurt your ribs or chest muscles. The "stomach bug" and chest symptoms may be unrelated. If the symptoms last more that a couple of days, please consult your doctor.

One possibility: When you say "stomach bug" i presume there was vomiting. If this is the case, the pain you now experience could be musculoskeletal tenderness from recent vomiting involving the chest wall and abdominal muscles...Which are involved in both vomiting as well as laughing and deep breathing (inspiration and expiration).
