Not quite: Seroquel might sedate you, but it is quite a strong medicine to use for the purpose of calming for a plane flight. Some people find that a single dose of xanax (alprazolam) or Ativan at low dose -- one dose for going and coming back -- works well. If you had a longer time before your trip, cbt might work without meds. Online courses like http://www.Fearofflying.Com/ may help too.

Too sedating: When you fly, especially long distances, it is important not to be too sedated. You must be able to get up and walk around so as to prevent clots in your legs that can go to your lungs. I therefore give my patients who are afraid of flying a little dose of xanax (alprazolam) or Lorazepam to be taken 45 minutes before the flight. It does not knock them out and they are wide awake and alert and are able to get up and walk around. The prescription only requires one tablet per flight the person will be taking on their trip. Best wishes.

It may help. : Seroquel (quetiapine) can be sedating and it may make you drowsy on your flight. However, it doesn't really help that much for anxiety. Try guided imagery, relaxation, deep breathing, meditation, or listening to calming music.
