How long do you have to stay in hospital after hernia repair?

Same day: Most of the time after hernia repair will go home on the same day, however complex abdominal hernias that require extensive reconstruction, or after removal severe adhesion s, or hernia requiring bowel resections, may require one day to few days. Most common inguinal hernia repair patients go home immediately after the procedure.

Hours: Unless it is a large ventral hernia, most people are gone within a couple of hours.
