Tummy tuck?: Some tightening of skin will occur naturally after weight loss or pregnancy; in younger patients more than in older patients. If this is not enough, the excess skin can be surgically removed. Unfortunately, this results in a scar very low across the abdomen, but the scar can be hidden in many outfits that would reveal the loose skin. No other good options exist unless the amount is tiny.

Tummy tuck: Tummy tuck is commonly used, depending on laxity of skin and amount of excess. If you have extensive stretch marks, ability to remove may be limited (if above belly button). Surface wrinkling can be helped by thermage (rf) and/or subdermal laser tightening. Liporeduction is often needed, and may be done first to reduce the length of the tummy tuck scar created.

Remove it.: Significant loose skin is best treated with excision but mlnor skin tightening can be achieved with heat modalities such as laser, rf waves, ultrasonic energy etc.

Probably surgery: Althougj some lasers, ultrasound or radio frequency devices may claim to tighten skin, they are likely to achieve onlyodesr improvements (2-3 on a scale of 1 to 10). Surgery is likely your best option for anything other than mild laxity and the length of the scar will depend on the extent of the laxity and can extend all the way around your body if necessary.
