Always ask: Always ask what tests are being done and why. Most doctors will be happy to go through that with their patients. Without knowing your specific case i suspect they are testing your thyroid and possibly other hormonal tests. Usually irregular periods in a teenager can be treated with birth control to provide cycle regulation.
