Learning disability: There are many different causes of learning disabilities, both in children and adults. Some forms persist into adulthood and can affect learning, concentration and memory functions. Thus it can affect education and job performance. Some forms can be partially helped by medications. If you have symptoms of difficulty concentrating or learning, it is definitely worth consulting a neurologist.

It Matters: A specialist can help with diagnosis and proper therapy, if this is indeed present. Often a psychologist does these things. It matters if such a disability hinders your job performance or interpersonal relationships. It may be like trying to function with 1 arm tied behind your back.
