A member asked:

Need a 2nd mri after foot drop.1st mri shows protuding disc l5s1.will this show cause of drop or just rule out other causes?had 1 failed nerve drop

A doctor has provided 1 answer

EMG would be better: I am not sure why you would need another mri. An emg/ncv (electromyography and nerve conduction) might be a better test to localize the location of the problem. It can detect where the nerve is abnormal-often it it at the level of the knee.
