Yes, but...: Vaseline will not hurt you, if it gets in your eyes; however, with the symptoms you're having, i would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist for evaluation and more definitive treatment.

Yes, temporarily: Vaseline won't hurt your eyes, but there are probably better things to put on there, depending on your problem, which could be anything from blepharitis, to eczema to hzv/hsv infections, etc. Vaseline is probably just masking your problems, and not treating it. See your ophthalmologist and get the right treatment.
