Xyzal (levocetirizine) seems to cause depression & anger outbursts in me. is this common? would other meds control my hives & allergic reactions to meds just as well?

It is a side effect: Yes. These are potential side effects of xyzal (levocetirizine). I would recommend that you call you doctor, stop the med for now, and replace with another second generation over the counter med like Claritin or allegra.
