How to differentiate kidney pain and back pain? i have a history with utis, and could have pinched nerve/bulging disc woke up w/very sore flank area

Location and imaging: Kidney pain is usually due to kidney stone especially if thee is hydronephrosis. Could also be due to infection. It can sometimes be difficult to say it for sure but is possible to find out with urine testing and ct scan or other imaging studies.
