No set time: Nsaids such as diclofenac carry the risk of GI problems. Kidney impairment is rare if your kidney function is normal when you start to take. Routine lab should be done to monitor for these issues.

Long term use: Of non steroidal analgesics can cause numerous physical problems! i see most with G.I. Complaints ; stop them! check with your pcp.
