I have a bump on my right thumb joint. sometimes i feel a sharp pain, mostly it feels numb. what can this be?

Likely ganglion cyst: These bumps are often from the joint forming a bubble of fluid. If it presses on a nerve it can cause numbness. If it is getting worse, go see a hand surgeon

Where?: It could be arthritis or a trigger thumb. See a hand doctor.

See Hand surgeon: Lumpiness around joints can be due to either arthritis or from cysts that arise from joints called ganglions or mucous cysts. Numbness is not a symptom of either of those diagnoses. Numbness is due to nerve related issues and the commonest diagnosis would be a carpal tunnel syndrome. See a hand surgeon for assessment and management.

Bump/Thumb/pain: Maybe a cyst compressing a nerve or arthritis. Best to see you doc or Hand surgeon.
