Dexa scan: There are a mber of ways to check for osteoporosis. A simple x-ray alone is not adequate because it can be over it under penetrated to make the bone appear more or less dense than it is. A deca scan is by far the most common test for osteoporosis. In this test, the bone density of you spine, hip, and wrist is compared to normal bone and an age matched control.
