Miscarriage: Signs and symptoms of a miscarriage might include:vaginal spotting/bleeding, pain or cramping in your abdomen or lower back, fluid or tissue passing from your vagina. It is best to see a doctor and have them perform tests to see if you have had a miscarriage, the doctors will discuss with you what will happen next and answer any questions you may have.

Miscarriage: You know if you had a documented intrauterine pregnancy - by ultrasound or quantitative hcg. A period coming a day or two late is usually just a late period, if there was a positive test but period starts its usually called a chemical pregnancy.
