It is common: I assume you now have dentures. Things are now very different in your mouth than they were with real teeth. Biting your cheek and/or your tongue are very common. You will learn not to do it naturally.

Shape changed: Your teeth support your cheeks and not that you have had extractions your cheek will drape differently. If you have had your missing teeth replaced with and you are still biting your cheek then see your dentist and have your bite checked. You may need adjustments.
