SIDS: The general advice given on this topic is that babies should sleep on there backs until they are able to roll over on their own without any problems. This typically happens between 4 and 6 months of age. It's a good benchmark to make sure the baby is out of the sids age range.

Doesn't matter: The early definition of sids placed the vulnerable period at birth to a year of age. Higher numbers are reported in early months but later events do occur. That said, it declines as babies are able begin to roll.Rolling over probably provides a protective effect.Parents should start babies on their back during infancy and not fret if they roll in the night.
