Old age freckles: Long term exposure to the sun can cause dark discoloration, and also dark smaller flat lesions. These are lentigines, or senile freckles and occur in many people on sun exposed skin, like face, hands and forearms. They are found mostly in older people just because they have had many more years of sun exposure. You need to block the sun, and can try retin a (tretinoin) or glycolic acid, and also a skin bleach.
