Find your zen: Certainly some people need a medical professional to help them control stress that is out of control. But there are often things you can do, like exercise (especially yoga, tai chi in addition to working out) and mindful meditation that can be as helpful, if not moreso, to medicine. Talking out concerns with a psychologist can also put things in perspective. Or volunteering. Good luck.

What type of doctor?: It is true that stress can have many negative effects on the body. Rather than medicines, counseling would be a good first step to help you find ways of dealing with stress. Psychiatrists and psychologists can often help with this problem.
