Active immune system: The flu shot activates your immune system. This can cause a reactive arthritis in some people. It will usually go away on its own but may come back with other shots. If it does not go away on its own you should see a rheumatologist. There is always the possibility that instead of a reaction to the shot it is the start of an arthritis disease.
