No: Duodenal switch will not work in a patient that has undergone gastric bypass, since the food stream no longer goes by way of the duodenum. If you are gaining weight after a gastric bypass, you should see your surgeon or a specialized GI physician, who can determine the cause for weight gain. This is usually due to enlargement of the connection between the stomach pouch and the intestine.
