No estrogen receptor: In general for cells to respond estrogen, they must have estrogen receptors. While the cells of the breast and genitalia are generally responsive due to estrogen receptors, the skin of the face does not have a particularly high concentration although the facial skeleton may be more responsive to bone loss associated with estrogen sensitive osteoporosis.
