Tylenol (acetaminophen): It is safe to take up to 6000 mg of tylenol (acetaminophen) in one 24 hour period on occasion. This is a lot of tylenol (acetaminophen) and to do it daily would be very bad on the liver. But one day of 5000 mg should not cause any concern.

Too much Tylenol (acetaminophen) : One should not take more than 4 grams of Acetaminophen in 24 hours (4000 mg) with an otherwise healthy liver. Overtaking by 1000 mg is a mistake, but not one that should cause immediate irreparable damage unless you have hepatitis and are unwell at baseline. (eg. Alcoholic). These issues make it easier to poison yourself accidentally with tylenol (acetaminophen). One time small overdose by 1000 mg should be ok.
