Possible causes...: One's primary care doctor can check for medical causes. If none are found, then one can see a dermatologist, especially one specializing in hair restoration (some treatments: minoxidil, etc, ...). Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male/female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium.

HairGrowth/HairLoss: If you are noticing thinning hair, a widening part or decreasing volume, these might be signs and symptoms of hereditary hair loss which will progress without treatment. While there is no miracle 'cure, ' the good news is that effective medical treatments can slow, stop and even reverse hair loss. Early treatment is best.
