Be more specific!: Your cheek bone goes from under your eye to near your ear. If the pain you are having is near your ear then you may have injured your jaw joint (temporomandibular joint = tmj) on that side. If this is the case, you need to see tour dentist for a proper exam, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Stinging pain: You may have damaged your buccinator muscle. 1st, stop opening your mouth real wide until area heals. Go onto a regimen of analgesic/anti-inflammatory, 200mg Ibuprofen, 1 every 4 hours for 3 days. Use cold compresses, 5 minutes on, 10 minutes off, for 2 days. If still a little sore by day 3 switch to warm compresses.
