I have a swollen cornea. can it become swollen from over usage of the eye and should it be taken seriously?

no and yes: Over usage of the eye does not cause swelling of the cornea, but many serious conditions can present with corneal swelling. See an eye md and specifically a cornea specialist if they are available. If you wear contact lenses, stay out of them.
