not ovulating: The most common cause for missing a period is not ovulating, since ovulation causes a period 2 weeks later. If you're not pregnant and missed a period, you most likely did not ovulate. I would see your doctor, who can help figure out why and help you to ovulate in the future.

If u missed a period: And u are not pregnant then u did not ovulate, hormone imbalance is the most common cause , can be many other reasons, please see your obgyn.
