Is it unlikely for appendicitis to last over 7 days?

Yes, but....: There is the possibility of chronic appendicitis. But, most acute appendicitis cases lead to perforation in about 36 hrs. Good luck

No: I had a case in which it smoldered for over a month. The patient was foolish not to seek health care and the physician even more foolish to ignore it. At autopsy, i found a perforated appendix and six weeks' worth of healing. Get seen if you're at all concerned.
