get exam: At your age, shoulder pain w/ no hx. Of injury and your symptoms i would think u may have tendinitis of the rotator cuff. See an ors for evaluation.Pain when u 'lean' on your shoulder is typical of this.; esp. At night.Pain past your mid upper arm(deltoid attachment) would be atypical...

Shoulder strain: A little more info could be helpful: any injury or event prior to this starting? In any event could be some form of rotator cuff strain/overuse. In lieu of an injury, likely nothing major. Would try scheduled dose NSAID such as Motrin 800mg every day hours for a few weeks, and may need therapy as well.
