what would cause severe pain starting in the right side of neck down thru the shoulder and radiate down the arm to the elbow and forearm?

Pinched nerve: The nerves to the arm come out from the spinal cord from the neck vertebrae .A pinched nerve, at this level, could cause these symptoms.See your doctor if this persists, epically if there is numbness and/or weakness.
