Intestinal gas...: Intestinal gas is caused by a variety of factors including aerophagia (swallowed air) and fermentation of carbohydrates by intestinal flora. People with digestive enzyme deficiency(s) (e.g., lactase def) cannot break down milk sugar (lactose) adequately and it runs through the gut to the colon where the flora ferment it and release methane (gas). Try a low-fodmaps diet. Good luck!
