The nose knows: The most likely cause of transient vocal raspiness in the morning is due to collection of fluid in the back of the larynx (voice box) which in tern is often due to allergy. Another cause is esophageal reflux with the fluid getting into the throat. Antihistamines will help the former cause. Antacids will help the latter cause.
