Fear: Everyone is a little afraid of going to the doctors, but we all do it so we can be well. If you go in kicking and screaming it is going to be hard for the doctors to understand how to help you. Find ways to calm yourself down before you go in. Sometimes writing everything down can help. Most doctors will understand if you tell them you are scared, they do want to help. Good luck.

Bring Caregiver With: Try talking to your caregiver before you go see the doctor and go over the things that bother you. No one wants a patient that "kicks and screams" at them. Usually, a bit of forewarning will allow the office to pre-screen the situation and allow for a better visit. Maybe there is a better time of day than another, maybe meals should be considered, etc, etc. Do as much "homework" as possible.
