Nothing specific: There is usually no specific cause for hemiplegic migraines. Some people just have hemiplegia with their migraine. Recommend a preventative medicine, discuss with your doctor.

most are genetic: Most patients have a genetic predispostion to this rare sub-type of migraines which can present with stroke like symptoms of weakness called hemiplegia.
