Check for lumps: Breast cancer rarely causes pain as the first symptom. So it is not likely that you have breast cancer. Yet you should do a monthly breast self examination and feel for any lumps. It is also useful to have a clinical breast examination done by your family doctor once every 2-3 years or if you feel any lumps so that he/she can verify. Once you get closer to 40 years of age , mammography is advised.
