Yes: Contact lens also has size of size of cornea, in addition to power. That's why contact lens have to be 'fitted'. The power may differ also, if the myopia is significant.

Both: Depends upon your needs. Eyeglasses are handy as they can be taken off, and they also provide a protective barrier in front of the eyes. Contacts do not fog up, are comfortable if fit well and end the annoyance of dealing with eyeglasses. It is a personal choice and not a medical choice.
