Do you need a functioning acl if your job requires you to stand for long periods of time, eg teaching? is it considered a very strenuous activity?

Not necessarily : Most ors who treat many acl tear pts. Will reccommend arthroscopic acl reconstruction in 22 year olds because of the risk of further injury( meniscus tears, chondral injuries) and the potential for the knee to " give way" w/ activities. Now if this pt .Is older and just " stands" @ work nonoperative tx( functional knee bracing and rehab) may be considered .. Speak w/ board certified ors
